5 Easy Thanksgiving Cocktails You Can Make for a Crowd

1. Autumn Harvest White Wine Sangria 🦃

This is my absolute secret weapon for holiday parties! I always make it the night before, which gives the crisp wine a chance to soak up all those gorgeous flavors from the pears, cranberries, and rosemary. It makes serving a total breeze and tastes like pure autumn in a glass.

Details: Difficulty: Easy | Prep: ~15 mins | Chill: ~4 hrs (or overnight)

🎯 Best For: A refreshing, make-ahead pitcher cocktail that pairs beautifully with turkey.

Nothing says “fall” quite like spiced apple cider and warm bourbon! This punch is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser and it’s so simple to throw together. I love making the cider and bourbon base in the morning, then I just add the ginger ale right before my guests arrive to keep it perfectly bubbly and fresh.

Details: Difficulty: Easy | Prep: ~10 mins | Chill: ~1 hr

🎯 Best For: A classic, comforting punch that everyone will love.

If you want an elegant drink that looks stunning but takes minutes to make, this is it! The vibrant red from the pomegranate juice is so festive, and the bubbles from the Prosecco make it feel extra special. I often make a non-alcoholic version for the kids by swapping the Prosecco for sparkling white grape juice!

Details: Difficulty: Easy | Prep: ~5 mins | Chill: N/A (serve immediately)

🎯 Best For: An incredibly fast and elegant welcome drink for your guests.

This is the ultimate “set it and forget it” cocktail. Your entire house will smell absolutely amazing while this simmers away! It’s so cozy and comforting, and guests love being able to serve themselves a warm mug whenever they like. It also works perfectly as a non-alcoholic drink; just leave the rum out and let guests add it to their own cups.

Details: Difficulty: Easy | Prep: ~10 mins | Cook: ~2-3 hrs on low

🎯 Best For: Effortless, self-serve warmth that keeps the festive feeling going all day long.

I adore a classic G&T, and this seasonal version is a showstopper. The homemade cranberry-orange syrup gives it such a fresh, vibrant flavor that you just can’t get from a bottle. Don’t be intimidated by making the syrup—it’s super easy to do a few days in advance and is the key to making this drink truly special!

Details: Difficulty: Medium (due to syrup) | Prep: ~20 mins | Chill: ~1 hr

🎯 Best For: A festive and refreshing twist on a classic cocktail for gin lovers.

My Top Tips for Batch Cocktail Success

Making drinks for a crowd should be fun, not stressful. Over the years, I’ve learned a few simple tricks that make all the difference. Here are my go-to tips for making your batch cocktails a huge hit!

🍂 My Top Thanksgiving Tips

  • Bigger Ice is Better. Instead of small cubes that melt quickly, use large ice cube molds or even freeze water in a Bundt pan to create one giant ice block. This keeps your punch cold without watering it down.
  • Prep Your Garnishes. Wash and slice all your citrus wheels and have herb sprigs ready to go. I love arranging them on a little “garnish board” next to the drinks so guests can have fun customizing their own glass.
  • Wait for the Fizz. If your recipe includes anything bubbly like Prosecco or ginger ale, always add it right before guests arrive. Adding it too early will make your beautiful cocktail go flat.
  • Do a Taste Test. Before you serve, give your batch cocktail a quick taste. It might need a little more citrus or sweetener. It’s much easier to adjust the whole batch than a single glass!

Your Thanksgiving Drink Prep Timeline

Hosting should be fun, not frantic! I promise that a little planning goes a long way. Here’s how you can prep your drinks ahead of time for a totally relaxed Thanksgiving.

2-3 Days Out: Make any homemade simple syrups (like the one for our Gin & Tonic!) and store them in an airtight container in the fridge.

1 Day Out: For the sangria, this is the perfect time to combine the wine, brandy, and fruit in your pitcher. Letting it sit overnight makes the flavors absolutely incredible.

Thanksgiving Morning: Go ahead and combine all the non-carbonated ingredients in your punch bowl or dispenser, then pop it in the fridge to chill. This is also a great time to set up your glasses, ice bucket, and garnish station.

Just Before Serving: Add your large ice block and top everything off with any sparkling ingredients. Now all that’s left to do is pour a glass for yourself and enjoy the party!

This Thanksgiving is all about celebrating the good things in life—family, friends, and the joy of sharing a meal together. These easy, make-ahead cocktails are my gift to you, helping you spend less time working and more time making precious memories.
